All Time Greatest NBA Players

All Time Greatest NBA Players

Editor’s Picks:

1. LeBron James

LeBron will likely make his seventh NBA Finals appearance in a row.  That’s right, seventh… in a row!  With several more years left on his career, he’ll undoubtedly make the trip a few more times and shatter even more records.  He has achieved these feats with far less talented teams that Jordan, and has never played for a top-tier coach.   Did I mention that there are second graders who have never lived to see a non-LeBron NBA Finals.  He’s All Time Bacon caliber.

2. Michael Jordan

MJ comes in at a solid #2.  Jordan’s stats speak for themselves.  More impressively, during Jordan’s eight year prime, the only two seasons he didn’t win the NBA Finals were the two seasons he left to play baseball.  No one ever played the game better… at least not yet.

3. Bill Russell

Bill Russell won eleven championships in thirteen years and was the centerpiece of the Celtics dynasty.  He was a twelve time all-star an had three games of at least 49 rebounds. Twelve of his thirteen seasons he recorded more than 1,000 rebounds.  A man ahead of his time, he comes in at #3.

4. Larry Bird

Larry is arguably the hardest working NBA hall of famer of all time.  Lacking the natural athleticism as others on the list, Bird averaged 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists per game on a crowded Celtics roster, while shooting nearly 50% from the field for his career.  His combination of consistency, work ethic and clutch bring him in at #4.

5. Shaquille O’neal

Shaq made Penny an all-star.  Shaq made Kobe and Wade hall-of-famers.  They changed the rules for him, coined a term for an intentional foul after him, and even forgave him for Kazaam.  The Big Aristotle has his size 22 footprint all over NBA history. He comes in at #5 in this All Time Bacon list.
